CSA Week 15

Fall is here. The air is cooler, the leaves are starting to change (there’s a beautiful multicolored tree that I can see outside the window as I type), and we’re making dishes that are a bit more hearty. We bought our pumpkins last weekend and they’re sitting stoutly on the front step; a new autumn leaf wreath hung on the front door. We’ve only got a few more weeks until the end of our CSA, too!

  • kale
  • broccoli
  • onions & garlic
  • acorn squash
  • lettuce
  • red peppers
  • tomatoes
  • basil plant
  • cauliflower

The basil plant is now sitting in a beer glass on my kitchen window sill. I’m wondering how long I can keep it alive, as the first one I received in July is still alive and looks great!

I’m planning to make a batch of pesto today; we’ll see how much basil I have left when all is said & done with that. I’m also going to try my hand at making a batch of soup for the freezer, to pull out when it really gets cold outside. Seeing that it’s already just past 3pm, I’ve got some work to do!

Happy Sunday 🙂
