CSA Week 16

Chicken pot pie is in the oven (thanks, Mom, for the recipe!)…so now I can blog about my CSA this evening. Even though I should probably work on rescribing a percussion cadence. Oh well – this is much more fun.

  • eggplant

    Week of 9/30-10/5

  • cabbage
  • two heads of lettuce
  • butternut squash
  • tomatoes
  • peppers (green, red, & poblano)
  • garlic
  • red swiss chard

I am also at this moment making a quick batch of chicken stock. I’m using the bones of a rotisserie chicken that I picked up at the grocery; the chicken went into the pot pie, and into a separate container for quesadillas/salad/whatever.  I like this technique simply because it makes my dollar go a little further – a $6.99 pre-cooked chicken will make at least two meals, plus stock. The next step is roasting my own…but that’s for when I have a day off from school!

And that, my friends, is my Wednesday evening. Thrilling, I know 🙂 Thanks for reading!
