CSA Week 6

Colors, colors, colors! That’s what immediately popped into my head when I received this week’s box. Not only was it colorful, but it was heavy, too.

Week of July 24, 2012

  • summer squash & zucchini
  • white potatoes
  • bok choy
  • sweet onion
  • garlic
  • corn
  • cherry tomatoes
  • cucumbers
  • purple peppers
  • jalapeno peppers
  • green beans

I am also thankful this week that these vegetables, bok choy included, are all ones that I am familar with and have worked with before. I still have some vegetables left from last week’s CSA, so I’m trying to still finagle incorporating them into dishes for this week as well. I have lots of ideas, and a bit more time this week to execute them, as opposed to last week. I’m also in the process of planning ahead for next week – BAND CAMP! – which will need to consist of a) easy dinners I can cook, or b) dinners that Hubs won’t mind cooking while I’m driving home from work.

Thus, today’s rainy day off (thank GOD we are getting a good, soaking rain! Northern Michigan has been way too dry. My hydrangeas are especially thankful) will be spent not only blogging, but tidying up the house and, as I said before, planning/preparing for the coming week.
