I’m starting to finally settle into a routine regarding grocery shopping, meal planning, and my CSA. Maybe it’s because there’s more variety starting to appear, or maybe it’s because I’m becoming more open-minded to the mystery box I look forward to every Tuesday.
Week of July 10, 2012:
- radishes
- basil
- red romaine lettuce
- radicchio
- zucchini
- beets
- red potatoes
- yellow onion
I was really excited to see zucchini this week, as the ones I planted in my garden may not make it due to a premature infestation of squash bugs. I am most intrigued by the radicchio; I’ve heard of it, and I know it’s included in prepackaged bags of salad, but other than that, I have never really done much with it. Everything else, however, is more familiar and now comes the fun task of figuring out what to do with it all 🙂
Question of the Day: Radiccho recipe suggestions? And…..go!
I was hoping you would have some good suggestions for radicchio. I have tried it grilled, but it still turned out pretty bitter…sorry I can’t be of much help 😦
Come and link up to this week’s link party and hopefully someone will have some magic idea…which I will steal for future use 🙂 http://inherchucks.com/2012/07/11/whats-in-the-box-34/. Hope to see you there!
I found a recipe on Pinterest last night that uses it, as well as snap peas, which I still have in my fridge & need to use up – hopefully I’ll remember to make it!
Ooh…sounds great 🙂 Will you be posting it?
I’m planning on making it tonight, so I will be posting it in the next few days. I have another post or two that I probably should get on writing 🙂 but since you asked, I’ll make sure to put it up first!
no rush…take your time…my tummy can wait 🙂
